Hello community, I had an old cooler master air cooler for an old computer that I had lying around that was for an lga 775 motherboard. (Gigabyte ga-945gm-s2) I want to put it in my new computer which has a lga 1155 socket on the motherboard (Gigabyte ga-h61m-d2-b3). I want to change the cooler on the h61m because the stock cooler fan is very faulty. I dont want to buy a replacement if I don't have to but I need some help. I havent replaced the cooler yet as I dont want to damage the motherboard.
Thanks!

If it has the mounting hardware for LGA 1155 then I see no reason why not to. If it doesn't then try to just hold the backplate and cooler on there and see if it can line up somehow. You DON'T want to force anything if it...
