Hi there,
I have recently upgraded to an i7 7700K and obviously it is running much hotter than my previous i5. I've already hit 83 degrees when gaming, which is well safe at stock speeds but I do plan to overclock which throws Intel's 100 degrees limit out the window. I therefore would like to improve my cooling, am currently using the Hyper EVO 212. What do you guys recommend? Budget is flexible.
Cheers

Sounds too hot lol, even i7-6700k OC to 4.5Ghz runs 8C cooler than that. Either that's because of Kaby Lake infamous hotness or you may need to research cooler.

Depends on your case, you can look at NH-15 or NH-D15S, which are essential the same top performer heatsink but with dual/single fan and different clearance. They are 1-2C better than Cryorig R1 Ultimate (bigger fans) and the S can fit into smaller Mid Tower case (only 160mm height with fan). Noctua is among the most silent you have ever heard as well, in round up review against similar top performer and high end AIO the Noctua is always on top spot or second spot for silence.

I knew there were problems with temp spikes and they were investigating but that response from Intel is a joke. Tempted now to swap it out for a 6700K or I'll have to consider de-lidding if I want to clock it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm using a Corsair 200R so it looks like a D-15 won't fit but the S version should squeeze in. Will probably buy an extra fan to make it dual as well. Lets hope my temps improve with it. Cheers.
