I am getting the coolermaster h500 (the one thats around $100). I want to put a 280mm cooler on my 3900x. I currently have a gigabyte x570-i motherboard. Will the 280mm cooler fit on top of the case because it has the 2 140mm fan spots or do I have to go with a 240mm cooler on the top?

If a 240mm cooler has to go on the top, then il just put a 280mm or 360mm cooler on the front. Do I have to get rid of the 2 200mm fans, or does the 360 or 280mm cooler just go behind the 200mm fans? Or can the 200mm fans just go on the top of the case?

Solution
Radiator Support - Top: 120mm, 140mm, 240mm
Radiator Support - Front: 120mm, 140mm, 200mm, 240mm, 280mm, 360mm
Radiator Support - Rear: 120mm

Do I have to get rid of the 2 200mm fans, or does the 360 or 280mm cooler just go behind the 200mm fans? Or can the 200mm fans just go on the top of the case?
You can move one, and store the other. 200mm fans work best with as few 'obstacles' as possible; a push-pull with them will not work well.

Which would work better in terms of keeping a 3900x cool and quiet? No overclocking at all, except for turning the eco mode on to save some power.

  1. Keeping both 200mm fans in the front and putting a 240mm radiator on the top
  2. Putting a 280 or 360mm radiator on the front (intake) and having one 200mm fan exhausting the air out, keeping the rear fan?
