Hey, so I have had this psu for like, 7 years now, but this is the first time I am getting a bigger gpu. I just picked up the rtx 2060 super and I am just wondering if this psu: coolermaster RS-700-PCAA-E3 would work for it. as I said, it has been a champ, running for pretty much 7 years I think, but I just want to get your opinions on it, and if I should finally retire this psu. This is my first time posting on here by the way.

Solution
I'll be honest with you, cooler master has never made the best PSU's. Chances are the rails and probably pretty noisy right now. Capacitors, inductors, and VRM's help remove some of that noise. But overall that leads to instability in the long run.

A Corsair CX series is what I would recommend. Then I would go Seasonic Focus Plus, then Corsair RMx then Seasonic Prime (In order from basic to premium models) If you look hard you can find a 550W CX550 on sale for $60. Get the grey/black label only. The Green label 500W is the older design.

Solution
After 7 years a PSU would have degraded. I know you like that PSU but it's time you change for a newer model. I'm sure you don't want that PSU to die at anytime and bring your new 2060 with it or half your system.

Do you need suggestion on PSU's?
Thanks for the quick response, and yeah, some suggestions would help a bit.

I don't notice any major noise or issues with it. pretty sturdy psu, but I will def. take a look at some new ones just because of how old it is. I feel like I want a new one anyway just because of the new gpu.
