Coolers CPU Specific?

Back in the core 2 duo days I bought an after market Cooler Master CPU cooler but never really used it. My question is can this be used to overclock my current 3570k or is the cooler not compatable with sandy/Ivy bridges?

most likely not. you would need the correct bracket, I doubt they sell them anymore
