Question Cooling a 7700k with a TX3 evo

Hey,

Bit of an odd question, but im upgrading from my i3 8100 to an i7 7700k. I dont want to spend a crap ton of money, as the cpu and board combo (i7 7700k + ASUS ROG Maximus Hero IX) are pretty expensive. Im just wondering if I can temporarily cool this cpu with my current cooler, my Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Evo, just so I dont have to spend any money buying a temporary cpu cooler so I can hopefully buy a proper watercooling setup.

Yes you can, but do not try to overclock with that cooler. It should be good enough to run on stock speed.

Yeah okay thanks, I wasnt planning on overclocking on such a crappy cooler anyways, just means I can get a better cooler later, thanks
