[SOLVED] Cooling (and mobo) for new CPU.

About to upgrade my i7-6700 to an i7-10700 and looking for some advice. Is it worth going for the 10700k or just stick with the 10700? I don't overclock it when gaming. What sort of cooling should I be looking at, preferably not too expensive. I found the ASUS ROG Strix LC 240 AIO Liquid CPU Cooler but its $200+ which is quite a bit.

Also, I'll need a new mobo so I'm looking at the ASUS ROG Strix Z490-F but its $520 which is a bit over my ideal budget. Any cheaper alternatives? Thanks!

Consider the 10600K instead, or heck, just skip the 10700(k) and jump on the 10900K.

Just flat out skip that nonsense. That's Asus Tax at work. That's too bloody high for a 240mm AIO, and Asus knows it - that's for the ROG suckers.

What are the advantages of 10600k over 10700? There is a 400$ diff between 10700 and 10900k which is a lot...
I haven’t done any cooling before this is my first time putting new parts in, air or liquid and preferably under $150AUD if possible

Thank you for the advice, it was very helpful and I will be watching that video and deciding from there. With the Cougar cooler and others that have the circle fan like that, the fan replaces the fan that comes with the intel chip right? It just slots in overtop of the chip like the other fans would?

The unlocked, or K SKU, cpus don't come with coolers.

Are you confusing the AIO pump block for a fan?
