What is the best way to cool down the Zotac gtx 970 graphic card. When gaming, it goes upto 90 sometimes which causes system shutdown. Is there any cooler i can use or any simpler way to cool down my gpu??

Thanks

I have never seen temps that high on a 970 before, even if it has the stock heatsink - you may have something wrong with your card. Nevertheless, to reduce temps, you can buy more case fans, to increase the airflow in your case, and move the hot air out faster so the GPU doesn't throttle.

Hmm :/ that's sad to hear. what could be wrong with the card?? i ve bought it about 2 months ago. Also, I have a cooler master elite 311 cabinet. Can you suggest fans for that? ive been looking for fans but there are so many i dont really know which would best suit this one.

thanks

Almost forgot, right now, at idle, the temp is 36 degrees

36 degrees at idle is not too bad. What is your ambient (room) temperature?
You can fit a 140mm fan in the front and a 120mm fan in the side. You will be able to use any 120mm/140mm fan, but here are some examples: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-CO-9050009-WW-Series-Edition-Airflow/dp/B007RESGGC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419858092&sr=8-1&keywords=140mm+fan

thanks for the quick reply, my gpu, idle is around 36c. it gets a little loud with the fan though and it is around 77 max now, not going more than that. tested for an hour. . Its going to take a long time to rma the card right?? :/

Are you using any cooling fans along with your set up??

Sorry for late reply was eating dinner. I dont know how long it would take to rma the card. If you want another one i reccomend the asus one or msi. In my case i have 1 Corsair Af 120mm quiet edition. So i have in total 1 case fan. If you google elite 120. You will see that my case gives the gpu fresh air through the mesh :p
