Cooling Fan Problems

I bought a new pc cooling fan it has 4 pins whenever i plug 4 pins in it dosen't work , but when i plug 3 pins in it works but its too loud I somehow cannot control the fan speed in the bios

Read through your motherboard manual again. and make sure your using the correct 4 pin

Propably PWM tells the fan not to spin at that time.

I made sure it was the correct socket but the fan still dosent spin unless i use the 3 pin

I guess when you use 4 pins the fan is in PWM mode which can be controlled manually or automatically by adjusting by the temperature. Does it start spinning at some time when with 4 pins?

it may be because your motherboard turns off the case fans when the cpu temperature is low. what is your motherboard? look for fan profile settings in your bios and if you want fan running all time set it to manual or off

try prime95 for a minute or two so the temps go up and see it the case fan spins up

Nope nothing works the fan is still not moving unless I change it to 3 pin which will spin at 3000 rpm and that will cause a lot of noise .

My motherboard is Gigabyte so I tried using easy tune that didnt work
