Cooling fans

I dont know where this goes.. So here it is.

I need a cpu fan (plus heatsink) for my CPU MOBILE AMD|2500+/266 ATHLON XP.. I'm wanting to overclock it so it will be about 3200 speed.. I'm wondering if Cooler Master XDream II 80mm CPU Cooler for Socket A/370, Model "HAC-L82" -RETAIL will work with it..

You really don't need much of a heatsink for an overclock like that. A Zalman 6000 0r 7000 if the stock Speeze or CoolJag won't do.

From what I saw and read around the web, a Cooler Master XDream II may not be up to the task for cooling a Mobile OCed to its full potential but will do fine if you plan on staying below 2.3GHz, remember, copper > aluminium.

If you feel like going for a better HSF, try a <A HREF="http://www.thermaltake.com/coolers/volcano/rs/a1889a.htm" target="_new">Thermaltake Silent Boost</A>, that's what i'm using to keep my 2.5GHz Mobile Barton (200 x 12.5, 1.85V) cool : 48C Idle, 54C Gaming and 58C full Prime95 load =)

well hm, the Zalman7000Cu is a great option, Coolermaster makes very very good copper sinks as well. I have on a tualatin and its warm to the touch at the base, thats its. 1.2 ghz on 24/7, on slowest 5v setting of a silent fan.

DooD, any decent heatsink/fan will get you to 2.2 ghz. The cheapest one is <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=35-150-038&depa=0" target="_new">this.</A>

That would be a nice fan, if he were running an A64 chip. Doesn't support socket A.
The Vantec will get him to 2.4. The Zalman may not be supported for his board. The silent boast is a good choice, but not cheep. Any fan that supports an xp3200+ should be fine, just get what you can afford.
