i everyone. Been a long time since I posted on this site. Good to be back.

First of all; for my build, I will only be using Corsair AF or SP fans (the ones with the colour strips around them) just FYI.

I'm looking into buying the AIR 540 for my next build. I'll also be using a corsair h100i with a push/pull config of 4 fans on the radiator.
(Two corsair SP on the bottom, and 2 AF's on the top correct?)

I also plan on upgrading the stock front 2 140mm fans to 3 120mm.
Should those 3 be AF or SP?

I will be also be upgrading the back single 140mm fan. Which will it be; SP OR AF?

Really appreciate some help on this one. Logically I would have thought they all would be AF, but I've been wrong before.

Cheers!

Solution
AF stands for Air Flow, which should ONLY be used for case fans. SP stands for Static Pressure and should ONLY be used for radiators, heatsinks, and HDD cages.

So for that push/pull config, your going to want 4 SP fans. Then for the rest of the case fans, go with AF.

Really?
Dont you need a 2 SP's on the bottom and then two AF's on the top to pull the hot air out of the case. If you've got 2 SP on the top wont it simply be ejecting cold air out of the case for no reason? :p

LOL. No. Your getting confused, the orientation of the fans makes the air either go into the case or outside the case. So when you get the fans, make sure you orient them the right way.

As he said, make sure the orientation is correct. Those AF & SP fans don't have arrows pointing in the direction of flow, so just know the general rule is that the exposed fan blade side is intake. Air will push out of the side with the brace thing.
