How far should one be able to overclock this processor on an Abit NF7-S
board without additional cooling?

Depends on how good a CPU you got. I'm running a similar CPU at 2640MHz air
cooled (SP-97) with 1.93V on my NF7-S.... many CPU's wont go quite so far,
the occasional one will go a bit further.

Ive got mine at 2.5ghz, at a voltage of 1.75, fine for me ive got it
to go to 2600, but my cooling aint great at the momment, got to cut my
clip on my Zalman 7000A cu to fit it on my board before i try for 2600
again, never had it at 2700 ?, cooling aint a prob, i think the board
can't handle it ?

Tried a voltage of 2.2 and the board just @*@*@* up have to reset the
cmos, wont even let me change it in the bios just shuts down :)

2.5ghz is JUST fine, just get the ones with the best stepping, heres a
list that might help :)
