Question Cooling on B550 Motherboard Help

Okay, so I am very new to trying my own repairs, but wanted to learn when the cooler went out on my computer a couple weeks ago.

I know I have a B550 motherboard, and a Ryzen 7 5800 CPU.

I have bought two different coolers now only to find the original water cooling system had rectangular brackets, while the coolers I’ve bought have square ones. This is despite me checking online for compatibility.

The two coolers I bought were :
MSI Coreliquid 240R v2
DeepCool AK620

Is there a way to make one or the other of these compatible with the rectangular holes in my motherboard?

Or can someone please tell me a cooling system that will have the same rectangular brackets?

both of those are compatible with the AM4 board you have.

they are also compatible with multiple other platforms and therefore come with multiple mounting kits. you have to look at the instruction manual for which pieces to use for your mobo. should be in the box and labeled in some fashion or another.

the square brackets you have are for intel cpu's.

again look in the manual for the section on AM4 and it will tell you what to use.

Thank you for this help !

I had been under the impression I needed to use the brackets the system came with that didn’t match my mobo, until you pointed out it had come with adapter brackets to fit my mobo.
