cooling r9 280x r9 290

Hi guys,can i use the r9 280x saphire vapor x cooler on a reference gigabyte r9 290 is it possible have anyone tryed it? I ask coz i have dead r9 280x and a hot r9 290

thanks for the quick answer,i asume the gpu and other components on the board are on a different places,as i though.
