What would you guys reccomend as the number 1 method of cooling. I need a better cooling solution, but can't afford much right now (just lost job). Originally, I was planning on buying a new case (Antec 1080) for better airflow, but if a HSF upgrade would be cheaper I would rather go for that now. I'm currently running an AXP 1900+ which idles at ~45 and gets up to 80+ under load. I leave the side of my case off and also have one intake and one exhaust fan. I'm currently using the stock HSF that came with my retail chip. What are you cooling suggestions? I could get the case if that would be best. Thanks.

p.s. I am not overclocking, nor do I plan to. The computer room is generally on the warm side.

Well depending on how many case fans you currently have I'd add atleast one more, they run like $3 on ebay. At bare minimum you should have a decent 80x80 exhaust and intake fan. The CPU is running too hot under load, you want to get this down to no more than 65C underload or that baby isn't going to last much longer. You need to get a decent cooler, since you don't have much to spend I'd recommend at bare minimum a Volcano 6cu, but highly recommend the Volcano 7 as yer temps need to be much lower. The Volcano 6 costs $9 and the Volcano 7 $16.

I buy most of my case cooling supplies at www.bestbyte.net - everything is new and they ship fast, as well they take paypal or money order and their prices tend to be less than other online shops and even ebay at times.
