Hey Everyone,

I've recently made up my mind to delid my I7 4770k. I'm gonna be using the vice method for those wondering. Anyways, from what I've seen, heard, and read, CoolLabs Liquid Ultra seems to be the best TIM for the delid. Now I have some concerns with Liquid Ultra, primarily I've read that it dries up and becomes unremovable. Is this going to pose a problem? Will the Liquid Ultra dry up on my die and cause my temperatures to rise?
Another thing, although most delidders don't reattach the IHS with glue or whatever, I want to reattach it. Looking around, I have heard that I should use High Temperature Silicon, does this sound right?

Solution
I used CLU when I delidded my 4770k and so far all has been good (it's been about 6 months). I re-attached the IHS with high temp silicone and it looks like new, though that also means I haven't been able to check if the CLU has changed under there. There's a lot of conflicting info out there about whether or not it dries up. Most people reporting decreased performance have some kind of metallic reaction to their heatsink. I'll update if I experience any future problems.
yea coollabs liquid ultra does dry up and if it does it will raise the temperatures. also theres always a chance to remove the stuff though i dont think it would be unremovable but i would not mess with it in the 1st place
id recommend something like masscool shinetsu g751 or artic mx4
