I have a PS4 and the sunlight ALWAYS shines directly onto it, and as it is black, it gets extremely hot even when not gaming. Putting something on top of it does not help to cool it, so I was wondering if adding 20 copper pads (20mm*20mm*1mm) would effectively radiate heat away from the PS4 to try to cool it.

I literally have no where else to put it, the wires work perfectly because they are not very long.

Solution
I think those are supposed to go between cpu and cooler if the fit is shitty. But I'm not sure

This . . . is better than a mat black surface, for sure.

I'd try buying an emergency blanket and covering your PS4 with it. There's ones that keep you hot and ones that keep out the heat.
Something really shiny/reflective or white would do as well.

I just love it in the place, everywhere else is cables and mess.

I was just wondering if it did anything to help the heat issue. Even a difference of 1 degree is fine for me

Then straighten out your cables make use of some zip ties or something. Building a copper box around your ps4 is ridiculous when it can just be moved somewhere else out of the sun. I would buy a little end table or something to put next to my tv for the ps4 to sit on before i tried doing something like that. And if you just rested those copper pads on top of the ps4 it would do nothing you would need to build a box around it and have something to dissipate the heat out of the copper box or it would become a little hot box.

I don't mean adding a box, I just mean putting a set of 20 on the top to try to reflect the heat.

I doubt resting them on top of the ps4 would do anything copper does reflect heat but having your ps4 bake in the sun all day with or without some copper pads sitting on it is a bad idea.

Those copper pads should definitely help it a tiny bit.
