I want to copy some software from one of my work computers to my personal one. I copied the C:\Program files\folder where it is located but forgot to copy the registry information for it. Would exporting the registry from the work computer and importing it on my computer make it work? Currently when I open the exe for the software it produces the following error:

The routine cannot be called if no forms are loaded.

Solution
Hi, it won't work.
1- you need to install the program because it has to do entries in windows registry
2- unless it is free programs, it is illegal to do so. Look at the license of the program before doing so.

Thanks for the quick replies. I don't have the setup files on the computer and it looks like the developer of the software has moved on from it (came out in like 2000). Think cloning the hard disk and installing cloned disk as secondary storage will work?
