Question copying images/not transferring from iphone to pc

I'm trying to "copy" my images from my iphone to my pc as backup. PC is using windows 11. Searching on the web only describes "transferring" these images. I want backup copies.

Do you have a USB cable?

When you hook up the phone it will likely ask on both ends for some manner of confirmation you wish to connect as a data device. After that, it is pretty much a USB stick. If you happen to have an SD card in there and the photos go there it gets really easy...

I only take a few that I wish to have in 2 different spots so I just Emailed them to my PC.
