Yes will work, but cpu will bottleneck if playing recent games .

Agreed - I'd go no higher than a non-Boost GTX650 Ti unless you're planning on using this card in a new computer and it's only going with the Core 2 Duo temporarily.

Start saving up for a better processor haha. I have a much slower HD7770 and its bottlenecked by my core 2 duo e6600
