Hi, I'm very uninformed about the subject but I would like to buy a video card for my pc.
So basically this is my cpu intel Core 2 Duo E8600 3.3 ghz, and I'm running on 8gb ram.
I would like to know any good video cards out there that may go well with it.
I was thinking in spending a lot of money on it, but a friend told me it doesn't work like that, that I need to see what's best for my cpu, so I hope you can help me.

if that`s for gaming... for a cpu like that, I would suggest an RX460. Your CPU can`t handle much more than that. Or a 750ti whichever you want to buy (although i think the RX460 is priced better and performs a bit better).

But yes, your CPU is old and in CPU intensive games it will struggle. None the less, the RX460 is the one to go for if you wish to upgrade just the GPU.

Also, if you have a decent CPU cooler and motherboard. You should try overclocking to around 4.0Ghz, you can easily achieve more. But, the 4Ghz is a realistic, easy target.

Thank you for your answers guys, my goal is to play games, yes.
I'm actually a fan of nvidia, so I'll go with that 750ti you said, thx a lot :)
