Core 2 Duo T5550 upgrade

I bought this laptop awhile ago a few years at least and I want to upgrade my CPU on it. Its got the T5550 core 2 duo. Was looking into the T9600 would it work. The laptop is a Toshiba Satellite X205.

Laptops are not very upgradeable so its kind of tough saying what will and what wont. Your toshiba has a PM965 Chipset and according to intel it will support up to an 800mhz FSB so the T9600 is out since that is a 1066mhz FSB so that is definitely not gonna work. Now in the spec it dosent say at all if it will support a 45nm CPU either so like I said its not easy saying what will work. Also laptop manufactures tend to write there bios with support only for the chip they came with. Your best bet would be a T7800 if anything its the fastest 65nm CPU at 2.6ghz and 800mhz FSB.

Hmm just read a notebook forum and they say you can use a T9300 will work with a bios update.
