Core 2 Quad Q9400+R9-270x Bottleneck?

Hey guys,

I'm building a rig for a friend of mine, and he's on a pretty tight budget. I have a Q9400 and a 775 mobo laying around, and I'm looking to let it go for him cheap, (Again, tight budget) and I want him to get a decent gpu, (R9-270x). I've looked around on forums everywhere, people saying it will bottleneck, people saying it won't. What are you guys' thoughts?

Eh it's not gonna be great, but it will work for a while. You'll definitely not get 100% out of your 270x, but you should still get playable fps.

yes, it will create a bottleneck but not so much that it would be a "big" waste of money. even a 2gig 6950 would be a decent card to run with that processor. (more than enough)
