Question core 2 quad q9550 overclock

Hi,

I would like to overclock my cpu but dont know what settings to use because im fairly new to overclocking. I see alot of people pushing to 3,4ghz on their cpu's
and was wondering what settings they are using
My specs:
CPU: core 2 quad q9550
CPU COOLER: hyper tx3 evo
MOBO: asrock g41mh/usb3
RAM: 8gb dual channel ddr3 @ 398mhz
GPU: gigabyte g1 gaming 1050ti
STORAGE: 1tb 7200rpm hdd, 120gb kingston ssd
POWER: xilence 500w

Set your FSB = 400/1600MHz and make sure your RAM frequency stays the same as the kit is rated for (if Auto doesn't work, you'll have to change the FSB:RAM ratio to 1:1).
Done.

Auto voltage should be fine.

If the mobo doesn't auto adjust the RAM ratio when you increase the FSB, the RAM will become overclocked as well. You generally want to limit the variables you're changing to 1 at a time (ie OC the CPU and leave the RAM alone) so that it's easier to deduce what the source of a problem is if/when that happens.

Most mobos will show you in the BIOS what the new CPU and RAM frequency will be after the changes you've made before you save and quit.
