So, what does all this "70% better compared to Core 2 Duo Extreme x6800" mean?

-70% faster when running 4 applications?
-70% faster when running 2 applications?
-70% faster when running 1 application?
-70% nicer looking/better smelling?
-Something completely different?

It means that in apps that are multithreaded, and can take advantage of the extra cores, the C2Q is up to 70% faster than with the C2D X6800. In other words, with the X6800 using 2 cores, and with C2Q using 4...it's 70% faster. In regular single-threaded apps/games, there is no advantage.

Yes, of course threads. Why did I write "applications"? I think I had something like super pi in mind... Anyway, the raw processing power of a single core is not that much superior to current C2Ds then.
