I'm currently deciding which motherboard to buy for the processor I ordered online - the core i3 4160. Now I can't find it on google whether this is a Haswell Refresh CPU or just a Haswell one.

I'm choosing between the ASRock H97M Anniversary and the Asus H97M Plus or H97M-E. My problem is that the ASRock is the only sure mobo to support the 4160 out of the box (because it says it in their website any bios version will run the 4160) while I'm not so sure about the asus ones.

What should I buy? I'm really siding on asus because of the reviews but I'm not sure if it'll run out of the box.

I'll wait for your answers

Solution
That CPU should work on ANY H97 or Z97 motherboard.

Any "97" motherboard should support Haswell and Haswell refresh straight out of the box. Only the "87" and "81" boards will require a bios update for Haswell refresh.
I just read on the asus site that the bios required for the H97M-plus to run 4160 is BIOS version 2001, I did some research and found out that this bios version was released way back in 2011! Am I right now to assume that the Asus h97m plus will run it out of the box? Sorry newb questions

Sockets Supported FCLGA1150

Haswell Refresh CPUs are supported by Intel's new 9 Series chipsets (Z97 and H97, codenamed Wildcat Point), while motherboards with 8 Series chipsets (codenamed Lynx Point) usually require a BIOS update to support Haswell Refresh CPUs 4160 is not a haswell refresh you just need a 1150 socket mobo.
