This coming April I'm building a new pc. a core i3 4170 or core i3 6100 specs below

core i3 4170
palit gtx 970 4gb
asus h81m-d
ddr3 1600
1tb wd caviar blue
Seasonic S12II 520W 80PLUS Bronze
(there might be bottlenecks but it really depends on games)

core i3 6100
sapphire r9 380 4gb (no X)
gigabyte ga-z170n wifi
ddr4 3200
1tb wd caviar blue
Seasonic S12II 520W 80PLUS Bronze

the haswell build is more cheaper than the skylake build
which is which?
I cant go further than this I only have 32,000 Philippine peso budget or 700 USD
If you have a better suggestion just post it. thank you
sorry for my bad english! :)

The...
The core i3 6100 is better. But put the gtx 970 in the 13 6100 build as its better in perofrmance. Other than that thats a great pc.

By the way the core i3 4170 would NOT bottleneck as its a pretty damn good cpu.

if an i3 6100 paired with faster ram it gives more horsepower to the cpu but what Im concern of, can the cpu drive the r9 380 to its limits. because pairing the i3 4170 with gtx 970 its faster than the i3 6100 with r9 380 and its more cheaper and maybe I can still upgrade it with a faster cpu in the near future, and using an older cpu will always depreciate the value and even the performance. your thoughts about my idea?

yeah its not a fair comparison, Im getting a z170 mobo to use a faster RAM to enhance the performance of the cpu. what I heard on some reviews about using an h170 with a ddr3l RAM it will may burn the cpu because ddr3l RAM uses 1.5v and the ddr4 RAM only uses 1.2v. I think even if the i3 6100 with 3200mhz ram with an r9 380 cant beat an i3 4170 with gtx 970 right? and I guess I still have a room for upgrading my cpu even an i5 4460 or 4590 but the cpu is already 2 years old.

yep but, its a 2 year old cpu

If you got a 6100 with cheap mobo and DDR4-2133 RAM, would that bring the price down enough to get a 970 with that build? Because if it does, that would be the better build.

The fastest CPU with the fastest GPU is ideal. Did you read this review? http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/asrock-fatal1ty-z170-gaming-k4-d3-ddr4-vs-ddr3,4431.html
