Core i3-6300 vs Core i3-4370

I want to upgrade my CPU and I narrowed down to these 2. Cpuboss shows that 4370 is a bit better, but I am confused. 6300 is about the same money and newer generation, why is the 4th gen better? For casual gaming and programming with PHPStorm, which will yield better results?

CPUBoss is not accurate. The 6300 is better.

The 6300 is better on ever front.

The first comparison to show up on my google was the i3-4370 vs FX-6300, where the 4370 does indeed win. Perhaps something similar happened to you?

Just make sure it's i3-6300 and not FX-6300. Not sure why they would name the process so similarly.
