Hello everyone this is my first time building a Desktop PC today that i will be ordering from http://pcpartpicker.com/list/N4KrM8

I plan on upgrading the PSU first and the graphics card.
What are your thoughts on the chosen one i selected?
I didn't know exactly how much wattage i needed enough to power every component inside but hopefully it was a wise choice.
Also Will an i3 be okay for this and will i have to upgrade to maybe an i5 if i pan to upgrade GPU later on?
It's the GHZ that matters right correct me if I'm wrong? I apologize i am new to all this. 3.9 is good enough for most graphics cards correct?

My budget is under 500$ but if i could get something for 400$ now and upgrade it later it would be great.

I know every component has to be compatible with each other but at times it got confusing to me watching videos and researching online. If someone could help me build a proper gaming PC with compatible components I'd greatly appreciate it. I hope I didn't do too bad for my first time, I just want to make sure I'm doing this the right way. Thank-you.

Thank-You! Okay, I figured that PSU wasn't good thanks for the clarification. As far the graphics card that makes sense, I was going to remove it but I didn't know the motherboard has better graphics than it alone. The integrated graphics in the motherboard right? I want to upgrade the graphics card later on to something good now that you cleared that up. Thanks a lot, I have just made the changes. What do you think as far as compatibility? I plan to get a better PSU and change to a good GPU in the future..

if 250gb is all you need for now start with an ssd its well worth it PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

this psu is gretqa quality and plenty for a gtx 1060 in the future+ i5 6600

I like building with a I3, Particularly the i3-6320.
Here is a recent review:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/10543/the-skylake-core-i3-51w-cpu-review-i3-6320-6300-6100-tested
Cpu limited games like sims,, mmo and strategy games will play very well.
If you will be playing fast action shooters, plan on a discrete graphics card.
The psu wattage you need will be determined by your graphics card.
Here is a chart to help:
http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm
A quality 430w unit will power a card as good as a GTX1060. I might go 550w to accommodate a stronger card in the future.
The i3-6320 will be appropriate for a stronger card like a GTX1070.
Buy only quality for a psu. Seasonic is always good.
Pick a tier 1 or 2 unit from a list such as this:
http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

I will never again build without a ssd for the "C" drive. It makes everything you do much quicker.
120gb is minimum, it will hold the os and a handful of games. If you can go 240gb, or 500gb you may never need a hard drive.

I would defer on the hard drive unless you need to store large files such as video's.
It is easy to add a hard drive later.
Samsung EVO is a good choice for performance and reliability.

Its a 430W with no sleep function. A G2 550W or RM550X will serve his needs better.

Okay what do you think of this now that it's updated? Should I get an i5 ? Is that necessary? Will I need that for a gtx 1060 can you clarify? Thanks, if so which i5 should i go with that is affordable? http://pcpartpicker.com/list/N4KrM8

If you want a 250GB HDD, its good.

It's okay thankyou! I'm feeling more and more confident. I appreciate it. Yeah the one i was going with was dual core and that makes sense most high end games use quad core. Seems like a necessary investment later on actually.. I hope i can keep this affordable for now. Would this be okay? What graphics card would you recommend for now that would be best for the i3? Or is the integrated graphics card better than all of them that support i3? If that's the case maybe I need to look at getting a different motherboard for cheaper.

Few games REQUIRE more than two cores to run.
What they mean is more than two threads for which a I3 qualifies, it has 4 threads.
Few games can actually make effective use of more than 2-3 threads, and that is why the i3-6xxx processors are so effective I think the main category of games that really benefit from more than 4 threads is multiplayer with lots of participants.
Think about it... How much do game developers want to limit their market by requiring a processor that few can buy?

Yeah I don't know what i was thinking if that's the case, I've looked into other stuff but i should've know most game i want to run only run on quad core. Thank you! I'm going to save some money and invest in an Intel Core i5-6500. That seems necessary for me.

I can't disagree with using a i3-6100 in place of a i3-6320.
Best to use the savings for a stronger graphics card.

The 6100 will run ANY game absolutely fine mate, while an i5/i7 is better its plainly a lot more expensive.
Id actually take an i3 6100 over an i5 6400 because hyperthreaded dual core or not it actually performs better for 99% of games.
If you can afford an i5 6500 then by all accounts go for it but dont compromise the rest of the components doing it mate, & you certainly dont NEED an i7 at all.

An i3 6100 & a 1060 3g or rx 470 upwards will play pretty much any game out there at 60fps on high/ultra settings.

Okay thank-you for that suggestion, it has brought the price down a lot. What do you think of this http://pcpartpicker.com/list/yxtzPs now that it's updated? Is this okay for now compatibility wise? I'd be able to add a graphics card on later into the pcie express slot right?

swap the psu back to the corsair cx450m or cx550m & you have a very good base system to add a gpu to later.

Done. Alright I just need some verification that everything works and is compatible because this is my first time ordering and picking parts. Assuming i know how to put the computer together and install an OS from the bios. Am I good to go and order these parts and prepare to assemble the Desktop? Thanks again madmatt30, Your help has been greatly appreciated.

It's a good enough build for me because i want to use it for mostly gaming. What's wrong with it? 3.7GHZ processor can't be that bad? It's quad core which is good enough. I've chose the i3 over the i5 because It's a lot more affordable and will still do the things i want. See this http://pcpartpicker.com/list/qdL3wV
