At this point in the game. its should be still too late for intel. its just an rebadged i9 or something.

It depends, you have to remember the 13600k is still basically a 3rd tier level CPU aimed at the more budget minded performance audience at around the $300 and under price point while still offering a performance level that is rivaling the 5950x which was just reduced to the $500 level which is its lowest price offering ever.
Pretty impressive performance for its 3rd tier place in the product stack.
