Hi,

So I've got a new laptop, with a COre i5-6200U, 2.3GHz, with turbo-boost to 2.8GHz

I am using ThrottleStop 8.1 to have the CPU clocked at 2.8GHz with 2 cores active, and 2.7GHz with 4 cores active. If I don't use ThrottleStop, the CPU won't go above 2.4GHz.

Using ThrottleStop, and stress testing, the i5 NEVER uses above 10.5W. It normally stays at 10.1 or 10.2ish.

The i5 is rated at 15W, and I'm not getting the performance I should because passmark benchmarks show some users getting 4200, whilst I only get 3700.

Is acer deliberately using cTDP down? Or is there a program or windows tweak that will let me squeeze more performance out of my i5-6200U?

My 15.6inch acer laptop had adequate cooling performance for higher power consumption, with core temperatures never going above 65C

My laptop's config:

Acer Aspire F5-572G-595M
i5-6200U
GeForce 920M
8GB DDR3 L (1.35v) RAM
Samsung 850 Pro 500GB
