core i5 7500 compatible with MSI B150m Mortar Motherboard?

I am upgrading quite a few parts in my pc but I need to know if the intel core i5 7500 cpu and the MSI B150m Mortar motherboard will be compatible. Thanks for any help, it is all appreciated!

They would be, after updating the board's BIOS.

Only if you are able to update the BIOS using a 6th-gen Intel CPU before you install the 7500. You can't update the BIOS with the 7500, you will need a 6th-gen CPU to do that.

you will have to check MSI's website to see if they added support for the CPU in a BIOS update. it's always possible they will not add support for certain models and chipsets

Either change the board to a B250 or change the processor to a i5 6600.
The only difference in the processors is the clock speed if they were both clocked the same speed they would give the same performance.

I think it depends on if you already have the B150m and a 6th-gen processor to update the BIOS with. Do you already have a 6th-gen CPU?
