Core i7 2600 Support 1600MHz DDR3 memory

My PC configuration is
CPU
Intel Core i7 2600 @ 3.40GHz (not i7-2600k)
Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology
RAM
4.00 GB Single-Channel DDR3 @ 628MHz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard
Intel Corporation DH67VR (LGA1155)
Graphics
AMD Radeon HD 6570 1GB GDDR5(XFX Pine Group)

Is it possible for me to put Corsair 8GB Vengeance 1600 MHZ DDR3 ( 4GB X 2 ) Dual Channel Memory RAM (1.5V) in my motherboard instead of the current RAM.

Yes you can and I'd recommend you too for better performance... it should be 100% compatible

Actually, no, because as you can se in intel's website here, the mobo don't support 1600MHz RAM, but the 1600MHz RAM running on 1333MHz speed would be faster than standard 1333MHz RAM (I think):

RAM speed doesn't matter to motherboard, it just said compatible, it didn't said the maximum supported speed... also in BIOS, it gives "usually" gives choice of 1000MHz-2000MHz ram speed, if you got 2000MHz RAM choose 2000 ONLY same to 1600MHz...

are you serious xenot7? i7 2600 can support 2800MHz RAM... only problem is just time consuming for it to happen...

the benefits of having faster RAM was to both increase bandwidth and decrease latencies, and really, things don’t change much with i7 or other processor

yes its possible. intel specifys mostly 1600mhz and 1.5volts i beleive as guideline.

So, a way to get 1600MHz RAM fully working is by OC-ing the Processor and increasing the voltage right?
But RoshinAlex uses an H67 board.

What Happens to the RAM then? can it run on full 1600 MHz?

I went to Intel website and checked... It showed "Support for DDR3 1333/ 1066 MHz DIMMs"... Didn't say anything about 1600MHz...
But saw something interesting in this page, here is the link:

Hmmm, seems that an Adata and Kingston 1600 RAM works, even a 2133 MHz Kingston RAM passed testing.

Well I got the RAM... Installed it in the motherboard... Dual Channel... Turns out it still shows 1333MHz in the BIOS... Guess I have to change the motherboard... Is there any other way other than buying a new motherboard???...
