I'm using an i7-4790k, and a Hyper 212 Evo, and I noticed today, that with all background noise off, the cpu cooler is quite loud. I had the cpu cooler set to 100% (Around 1950RPM) So I went into the bios and configured the fan rpm, set it to smart mode (40c 25%, 45c 50%, 50c 75% and 55c 100% rpm) and when I booted up, it took about 2-3 minutes before the system just shut it self off, and rebooted. This has happened in the past when I first put the system together, and I spoke with a family member then who told me that the bios has a setting that will shut the system off once the cpu get's to a certain temperature. Well since I've owned the CPU (Around 2 months) The temperature has never exceeded 40c. 40c is EXTREMELY low to cause any damage to the cpu, and I don't know why the bios would set it that low. Does anyone know how to change this setting? Or do I have to keep Hyper 212 at 100% RPM at all times?
