Hi guys,

i have a core i7 7700 processor that is being cooled by a thermal take nic l32 cpu cooler with a b250m-a mobo.Every time i play a game, example gta 5, Temperature hit 76 degrees, i have read threads about the core i7 7700 Temps reaching 70+ degrees but Im like 24/7 on my pc most of the time. Is it safe being in the temperatures for that long ? or should i get another cooler that will bring the temperatures down? Im just worried being in that temp for too long.

Solution
You do have the i7-7700 (non-K) right?

I don't think it will affect your CPU. Thermal junction throttle temp is 100C. 76C is nothing to worry about on an i7 CPU. But if you are worried and want peace of mind then get a high-quality cooler.

You will need what size CPU cooler your case can fit, (how tall).

be Quiet! & Cryorig - https://pcpartpicker.com/products/compare/9bFPxr,8TvRsY,xFw323/

*What case do you have? How many fans are in it? What GPU do you have? What games are you playing when temps are 76C? The non-K i7-7700 shouldn't really be that warm with that cooler unless that cooler isn't as good as it seems or you are playing...
76C is just fine. Rule of thumb, as long as you are below 80C you shouldn't worry. If you find yourself going over 80C then you can start looking for cooling improvement solutions such as cleaning your case from dust buildup, adding another case fan, or replacing thermal paste. Last resort is buying a better cooler.

This was built 7 months ago, i clean my rig every six months including thermal paste service. I mean 76C is close to 80C and im worried because most of the time im on it 24/7 gaming. Do you think it will affect my cpu in the long run ?

I saw temps of 80-85C playing AC Origins with my i7-7700K @ stock 4.5GHz with a Cryorig H7. So I know the i7-7700(K) can run pretty warm playing certain games. That's why I upgraded to the NH-D15S.

terry4536,

Wait you mean at 30C - 40C is high for idle temperature?

volkgren,

Its a daeyang case got it from korea, it has three big fans in the front(im not sure what size) and one at the back, total of four fans. My GPU Is ZOTAC Mini Nvildia Geforce GTX 1050 ti 4gb
OMG, I was playing ac origins last night. Temps were at 76C. Graphics was on medium settings.

There are much better CPU coolers available. Depending upon your budget and room in your case. The Noctua NH- D14 or NH-D15 are excellent high performance coolers (they need 165mm of height clearance). If space is a problem, Corsair Hydro Series H115i Extreme Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (or similar) may be a better route.

No, I was referring to the 76 C temperature. The idle temperature is fairly normal.

I think you will like it. I've had the NHD-14 for years, and it does a great job. Their fans are awesome (except the colors).
I switched out the with PWM fans.
