Core i7 (860) can support DDR3 2000 (-2600mhz) memory, right?

I want to build a new PC, but the memory stuff between the new i7s is throwing me off. Trying to decide between either an i7 920 with 12gb of memory at 1600mhz or the i7 860 with 8gb of memory at 2000mhz (in the future 2600mhz).

But the intel site doesn't show that on the list for memory types, so am I limited to 1600mhz for the time being anyways?

well unless your going to over clock the QPI/dim the 920 can only handle 1066 MHz and the 860 can handle 1333 MHz. So getting thing faster than this is pointless. (except for overclocking and/or the price is cheaper.)

Yeah, no point in getting anything above 1600, even with heavy overclocking, otherwise 1333 will do.

I think a lot of people either don't know or don't remember they can always drop their memory divider. You don't have to have great RAM to handle a high Bclk. All you need is good enough RAM to be able to handle overclocking at the lowest RAM strap. Right now, if you have DDR3-1600, you can drop the strap all the way down to DDR3-800 and get the Bclk up to 266 MHz and overclock your CPU by 100% without running the RAM out of spec. Your CPU is going to be the limiting factor, not your RAM, unless you have slow RAM like DDR3-1066 and want to put a big OC on your CPU.
