Core i7 930 temps

Hello all, I recently completed my first build and am wondering if the temps I'm getting are OK.

I have an AsRock x58 extreme mobo-Core i7 930-Corsair Hyper 212-6gig Dominator memory and a PC Radeon 5850 gpu.

Idle temps are @ stock 2.8 35/40. OC @ 3.6 38c/42c. Runs COD @ 55c max and prime95 @ 60/68c.

I was expecting a little lower temps but I'm not sure. Let me know what u think do I need to re-apply paste or is it fine?

Those temps are safe, but maybe a bit high.

Idle temps are same/lower than my i7-920 (I'm at 39-42C with napoleon plus cpu cooler which is massive, weighs a full pound and is going to tear off the board some day)

"Runs COD @ 55c max and prime95 @ 60/68c" sound good -- do you have a fan profile for CPU fan speed? If not you could probably get a bit more air at 60C.

Hi tsnor and thanks. I have 2 fans on the hyper in a push/pull configuration. I may
re-apply thermal paste this weekend. I just think I can do a little better. maybe 35c max @ idle. I know its fine as is though.
