My cores log while I'm playing intense gaming like destiny 2 at top graphics on a 1440 screen at 120hz. It says one of the cores log but I'm not experiencing slow down of any kind or thermal throttling. Is this bad for my computer that one or two cores say log but I'm not getting a performance hit? I have an alienware 17 r4. Also it hits high 90s on the core that logs and the other cores are usually low 90s or high 80s on max temp. My gpu temps stay in the 70s. I'm using realtemp to measure.

Solution
can't answer your question, but in case, i use RealTemp as well, and found it was off, temp reporting wise, from HWmonitor, intel's ETU and a couple of others (who were all pretty close to each other) , until i ran the "sensor test" on real temp - it will open a screen to download Prime95, i used Prime95 vs 26.6, ran it for 30 minutes, and the temps RealTemp was reporting fell in line with the other utilities
