Hello,

so basiclly the issue is that when I try to change Core ratio setting to "sync all cores" or "per core" and boot to windows I get BSOD every time. Tried with different values and ajusting voltages of CPU, but even if I leave multipliers to auto it still would crash with BSOD. However I can still overclock it but changing the base clock.

Motherboard: Asus x99-a
CPU: Intel i7 5820k
PSU: Corsair RM750

What exaclty could be cousing this issue ?

Thank you.

Solution
Its most probably CPU issue. You can check the motherboard like reinserting hardwares in it or inserting different parts might help.
Send the CPU to intel customer care with technical problem stating in it.

I am using Windows 7 ultimate 64x. Overclocking can still be achieved by changing the base clock in BIOS, but doing anything with Core ratio settings causes BSOD.
As well no overclocking is present when I try to change Core ratio to anything except auto.

@Rycer.
Adjusting might not be particulary be causing the BSOD. There are other several issue's that you have to keep in mind for e.g installing any new hardware or software might be causing BSOD. BSOD have several causing issues. Specially check for Graphics card drivers.

Windows was installed just few hours ago and all the drivers are up to date including GPU one. The systems boots perfectly fine if you dont change the setting but the moment you try windows boot fails. As well i have tryed reinstalling windows and all the driver software. Tried on both BIOS versions(original that comes with motherboard and the newest upgrade from asus homepage).

Tried resseting bios options and then changing to sync all cores then booting into OS, leaving sync all cores and ajusting the voltage and then booting into OS. Did the same with per core option as well. Got the same BSOD every time.

Is there a possiblity that it's a hardware issue ? Faulty motherbourd or cpu ?

Well even if reinstalling windows and completely flushing off the cpu settings didn't help then its surely a hardware problem. Either its the Motherboard or Cpu. Warranty comes in handy in such cases 😀

Is there a way to figure out which component exactly it is ?
