My 1,3GHz Morgan is running on a 1.45v core, instead of the normal 1.75v. It´s completely stable, I´ve tried to stress it with different programs. I´m wondering if it could be damaged from being underpowered. Its 1.45v at default setting, running at 28-32C. When setting 1.75v in bios its running 40-45C.

Is there something seriously wrong with this CPU, and should I return it?

Its performing very well, is running very cool, but I´m worried it´ll be damaged from underpowering.

LOL no!
congrats... seems like you got a real good one!

if you can run CPU stressful applications without freezes then your good to go.

possibly the best testing program for AMD cpu's is TOAST. if that will run for an hour without crashing then u have nothing to worry about.

 Whats better, <font color=blue>Intel</font color=blue> or <font color=green>AMD?</font color=green>

OK, I´ve tested it for 6 hours and it´s completely stable. Running at 32C at full load. But something is wrong with the CPU when it´s set at 1.45 at default vcore! It should be 1.75. Isn´t this a sign that something is really wrong with this CPU, and shouldn´t I return it. Anyone else have experience with a low vcore CPU? I can see that a drop of 0.3 vcore reduces the temp, but does it do anything else? I´ve tested in PCmark2002, Sandra and 3Dmark, and my scores are the same as when I set it to 1.75.

There is nothing wrong wrong with the CPU. You must have got a realy good one. By the way why did you change the default voltage in the first place??????? And no you will not damage the cpu by under volting it!

When I first installed the CPU my mainboard was set to default vcore (selected by the CPU). It was at 1.45. I´ve tried to raise the vcore, I can run from 1.45-1.85. Still if there´s no problem, I think I´ll leave it at 1.45, to keep it cool!

Why should this CPU be a good one? There´s no real difference between a CPU temp of 32-45?

Because that means you have a lot of room for overclock it! The gates of your CPU run perfect even with only 1.45v. Usually this will not be enough and cause freezes and so on everyone's computer.

People when overclock raise the v. in order to make them stable. The problem is that it produces more heat and is risky. Look other posts, so many have their CPU running quite above 1.75; in other words, you have 0,3v more than the others. And that's a lot!

Oh yes, 45º is ok. Mine goes 47º full load and open case.

if it doesnt crash then its running fine.
i wouldnt worry about it.

two programs you CAN run if you wish are Prime95 torture test and/or SuperPi

both these programs stress the cpu, but more importantly, you can check their outputs for data integrity.

this way you can be confident your cpu is stable AS WELL as not producing any calculation errors

Just a thought here. How do you know it is a Moragn? I may be extremely far off the mark, but is it possible you got a .13um core (Appoloopsa or something like that)??? I don't know if AMD even started producing those (I don't think so) or maybe you got a test version or something. 1.45v sounds really really low...

My firewall tastes like burning. 😱

I bought it as a 1,3GHz Duron, and at boot-up it says 1300 AMD Duron... As far as I know all the 1GHz+ Durons use the Morgan core. If anyone has any real knowledge about it, I guess I can take off the cooler, and write down the model nr. Does it display the model nr. or a unique product code? I can also take a picture, but I don´t know how to post it in here. The CPU is purple and the core is red.
