I didn't get a chance to play over the weekend and saw that a new driver had been released from GeForce. I don't know if that's the reason why I have sudden FPS drops, but I've been trying to figure out why it's happening all of the sudden. FPS drops from 100+ to 20s when mortars go off in PUBG or in team fights on OW. I haven't changed anything since I last played on Friday when everything was fine. And yes, in-game overlay is not on.
I'm using the ASUS 1070 GeForce GTX dual fan, i7-6700K, with the X52 NZXT cooler, 16GB of RAM, and a MSI Z170A Krait Gaming MOBA. Using two monitors, one is 144hz and the other is 60hz.
I've uninstalled the drivers with DDU and reinstalled them a couple times, but no luck. My GPU fans don’t spin either, but I’m not sure if it’s always been like that. My core temps are reading at average above 80+ degrees Celsius, 90s while in-game, if that helps also. Which I’ve been told is absurdly high. I’m leaning towards it might be a thermal paste problem or cooler, not GPU based anymore. All my fans work too. Any tips?
