Will my temps increase or will I have a problem if I increase the number of cores of my computer ( through msconfig, boot and advanced settings) ?
Thanks!

Solution
???

You can't increase the number of physical cores on the processor. Windows should automatically detect and use all of them

If it's LIMITED through msconfig (I don't know why it would be), it will probably increase temps because you'll be using all of your available CPU.

Nah, I'm using Windows 7 ( 64 bit) and read somewhere that it naturally limits the usage to 1 core.. same shit with my Ram. I got 12 GB of Ram but it only uses 4.

Sounds like you have a FrankenRAM situation (mixed RAM), as mixed RAM frequently won't work together. Windows 7 does not limit usage to a single core.

There's something else going on here, but anyone here will need a lot more information about your PC than you're offering so far.

Reinstall the 8 GB stick or swap them around. I recently couldn't figure out why my system was limiting me to 8/16, but then realized one of the RAM clips hadn't seated fully.
