My cores all of a sudden started to overheat last night while playing Counter-Strike. I was wondering if theres a fix on this. I dont understand why this is happening when I have a heat sync and 2 built in fans on my case (Corsair Spec-02). Everything else is in good temperature. My Processor is i5-4690K Quad Core

Solution
Sounds like the heatsink didn't get seated right. I would remove it, clean all thermal paste and re install it, perhaps watch a few videos just to be 100% everything is right.
Well gaming does use the CPU and that causes it to use more power and in turn creates heat, so exactly how hot did it get, and what heat sink do you have? Do you have a family of cats worth of dust in the case? have you cleaned it?

I used the heat sync that came with the processor. I have no pets in my house. Ive had this pc for a week and the core temperature goes from 69C-100C and it keeps rising and decreasing in that range. Even when I am not doing anything or playing, it stays in this range. Yesterday i opened up the PC for any dust and there wasn't any.

I did just that before I read this answer. The Heat Sync wasnt on properly so I had to push it down more and screw it on to the motherboard. It turned out great.

My concern is when I play a game, the temperature of the cores go from 48C to 65C and my GPU goes to around 50C or less. How can i decrease this because it shows a little fire symbol next to it.

Well to decrease the temp of your CPU you will need an aftermarket cooler, as it is just basic science. you need more room to dissipate heat and larger fans on the heatsink to move cool air across it. Also GPUs have very large chips so they will always run hot.

Monitor your cores clock speeds while running a stress tool , what does the the cpu will be clocked at ?

NOTE : run it for seconds only to measure the "current"(not max) clock speed (I want to verify that the MB is not interfering with the cpu "intel turbo boost" clocking)
