Question Corner gaps in exhaust fan attached to case

Hello - simple question... See image attached.

It's a 140mm Noctua fan normally used for the NH-D15 used as my top exhaust fan. As you can see, the fan-case does not cover the corners.

My question: Does this corner exposure matter? If so, how much?

I would think it matters very little.

I don't think you will lose much at all.

I think the restrictive mesh is going to hurt you more than anything.

My thought: does not matter.

About 100 holes in maybe a 1,000 total....

Air is moved/exhausted through the housing surrounding the blades and that is what matters.

If anything those uncovered holes may allow additional exhausting via case air pressure and/or heated air rising up and out.

As to the gaps, it is a nit.

But, a top exhaust fan will tend to divert cooling air up and out of the case before it can go through the cpu cooler.

Try some tests and see if disabling the top fan or removing it helps cpu cooling.
