Is there any way to get messenger to work around a firewall, i.e. Proxomitron?
I am using MSN Web Messenger but it lacks some of the features.

Thanks

I have tried adding proxyserver into properties, but when I sign in it gives
me "the service could not be found - Please make sure you are connected to
the internet. 0x81000302

Greetings Jay,

Actually Messenger tries a variety of ways to connect before failing, including whatever
configuration you have setup in Internet Explorer and tries connecting via HTTP on port 80.
More than likely your work has either blocked Messenger specifically, or they've blocked SSL
(required for Passport authentication).

SSL is not blocked as I can use most HTTPS bank sites.

Hi Jay,

Well, there's some other ones like:
http://www.wbmsn.net
http://www.e-messenger.net
http://www.msn2go.com

They can't block them all (okay maybe they can) ;)
