Building first computer.

MB: MSI MPG X870E Edge TI has single 4x2 receptacle labeled PCIE PWR1
Graphics Card: ASUS Geforce RTX 5070MSI MPG X870E Edge TI has single receptacle, 6x2 with single rectangular slot with 4 pins above.
Power Supply: Segotep GM850W has 3 receptacles labeled PCIE. Two are 4x2 like the one on the MB. The other is like the one on the graphics card.

Cables supplied with PS include one labeled PCIE. This has three 4x2 plugs, one at one end, one about 20 inches down, and a third several inches down at the other end. Another cord is labeled 600W. This has plugs at each end corresponding to the 6x2 receptacles on the graphics card and PS.

I assume one end of the cord labeled PCIE goes in the PS with the middle plug going to the PWR1 receptacle on the MB with the 3rd plug hanging free, and that the cord labeled 600W connects the corresponding receptacles PS and graphics card. Is this right?

Also, can’t find reset switch cable in case (Gamedias Athena M3). Suggestions?

Thanks

Instead of confusing yourself and the reader with text, as misinterpretations can and will happen for novices, it's best you include images of the connectors you're seeing/working with. Host your images on a site akin to Imgur then pass on a link for us to see.

Connectors to the left of the image above hook up to the PSU. Connectors on the right go to your components. The end that goes onto your components often break into a smaller module, case in point; the 8(6+2)pin PCIe connector or the 8(4+4)pin EPS connector.

TO state it plainly, you can't force PCIe connectors(supplemental power to the graphics card) onto EPS connectors(supplemental power to the motherboard's CPU area) as they are keyed differently/uniquely.

If your PSU came with a 12v-2x6 connector, then use that instead of an adapter but make sure it's fully seated on both the GPU's end as well as the PSU's end.
