Corrodeproof Wand of Digging

I'm pretty far into this game, in the inner sanctum. At some point last
night I identified a corrodeproof wand of digging I'd picked up along the
way. How did that happen to be generated corrodeproof?

Angels' gear is all generated fooproof; this is the usual explanation.

Also someone could've wished for one. I like wishing for fireproof towels,
just because.
