Greetings,

Have is my problem. I had 2 identical (size and model) externals SATA hard drives connected to my computer. While the computer was sleeping I unplugged the power cord from the drive 1 and then flipped the SATA cables in order to test them. Then I woke the computer up, and now the files on drive 2 are gone and Windows Explorer show drive 2 with the same files that are on the drive 1. If I try to open any of these "new" files, Windows tells me they are corrupt. I even ran the Windows check disk with no success. Is there a way I can recover my original files?

They didn't jump, it just appears that files from disk 2 are now on disk 1. If I try to open these "files" it won't work.

It seems to me that the original files are still on the disk and something got corrupted (maybe MDT table?) so the system thinks that drive 1 is drive 2.

That didn't do it. It seems to me that maybe MFT got replaced with the one from drive 2 and now the system sees drive 1 as if it was drive 2.
