Corrupted Files in the Windows 7 Registry, what can I do?

Earlier today, I carried out 'sfc /scannow' and it said that there were corrupted files but it couldn't fix some of them. I did some research but a lot of people were saying you should just re-install Windows 7.
Should I re-install or is there anything else I can do to correct the registry?

the registry just points to files, its the files that are probably corrupt, unless you have a backup reinstall is safest, vs years of random crashes.

if the disk is going, replace the disk. how old is it? is it in warranty?
