I think that my computer tech found the answer, but I find it interesting that others haven't reported this problem, at least I haven't seen it mentioned. My Samsung 840 EVO 1 TB, installed in a Acer Aspire V5, Windows 8.1, fails if the battery runs down while in "sleep" mode. On trying to wake up the drive, I get a black screen with "Unable to locate OS". My tech found a work around: stopping it from going into sleep mode and defaulting to hibernate when I close the lid. This seems to be working, although the recovery from hibernate isn't as quick as from sleep mode. At least I don't have to be returning to the tech for him to open it up and to re-clone the drive from the original HD. I wonder if others have had this problem? Do I have a bad copy or would I have this problem with other SSDs and other computers?
